Privacy policy

This policy explains, in plain English, what personal information this website collects, why, and what you can ask me to do with it. I have tried to keep it short and honest, and to describe exactly how the site works today.

Who runs this website

This website, arsumonmia.com, is run by Ar. Sumon Mia (MD Sumon Mia), an architect and 3D visualization artist based in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The contact form

When you send a message through the contact form, it collects:

• your name and email address (required);
• your phone number, project type and project location (only if you choose to fill them in);
• your message.

I use this information only to read and reply to your inquiry, and to discuss a possible project with you. I do not use it for marketing, I do not add you to any mailing list, and I do not sell or share it with anyone else.

The form is delivered by Web3Forms, a form-sending service. Web3Forms receives your message and forwards it to my email inbox (Gmail, provided by Google). Both services process your message only to deliver it and store the email. You can read Web3Forms’ privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy for details of how they handle data.

I keep inquiry emails only for as long as they are needed: to reply, to work on a project with you if we agree to, and to keep normal business records. After that, I delete them. You can ask me to delete your message at any time (see Your rights below).

Hosting

This website is hosted by Namecheap, Inc. (shared hosting). Like most hosting providers, Namecheap may automatically record basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. I do not use this information to identify you. See Namecheap’s privacy policy.

Fonts, analytics and advertising

• Fonts are stored on this website itself. Your browser does not contact Google Fonts or any other font service.
• There are no analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) and no advertising or tracking scripts on this website at present.

Cookies and browser storage

This website sets no cookies of its own.

The only thing it stores is a small setting in your browser’s local storage: whether you prefer the grid or list view on the Work page, so the page remembers your choice. It contains no personal information, never leaves your device, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

YouTube videos (the showreel and project films) are not loaded when you open a page. They load from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced address (youtube-nocookie.com) only when you press play. From that moment, YouTube (Google) may set its own cookies and collect information according to Google’s privacy policy.

Links to social media (Behance, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, X) take you to those websites, which have their own privacy policies.

The WhatsApp button opens a chat with me in WhatsApp; from that moment WhatsApp’s own privacy policy applies.

eBooks and resume downloads

Reading or downloading the free eBooks, or downloading my resume, does not require any personal information. There is no sign-up and no email address is asked for. The online eBook reader runs entirely in your browser from files on this website.

Your rights

You can ask me at any time to:

• tell you what personal information I hold about you (for example, an inquiry you sent);
• correct it if it is wrong;
• delete it.

Just email arch.sumonmia@gmail.com. I will reply as soon as I can, and within one month at the latest. If you are in the UK or the European Union, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy when the website changes, for example if I add new features or services. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
